SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. — Command Sgt. Maj. Ronnie Kelley is the choice as top senior enlisted officer for the U.S. Army Central and the 3rd Army.
Army spokeswoman Maj. Heather Hall said Thursday that Kelley comes to the post on Shaw Air Force Base from Fort Bliss, Texas, where he served as the command sergeant major for the 1st Armored Division.
Kelley is a native of Bryan, Texas, and is a 27-year Army veteran. His career includes three tours in Iraq. He has been assigned to Bosnia, Germany, South Korea and throughout the United States.
Kelley replaces Command Sgt. Maj. Stephen Frennier who will retire from the Army after 33 years.
The headquarters for the U.S. Army Central and the 3rd Army transferred to Shaw from Georgia in 2011.
