A petty officer assigned to the crew of a ballistic-missile submarine has been charged with child molestation, allegedly engaging in sexual activity with a 13-year-old girl in his barracks room, First Coast News reported.
Machinist’s Mate 3rd Class (SS) Aaron Flores, 25, was arrested last week after the girl’s mother told police about the alleged incident, according to the FCN report. Police say he allegedly hid the girl under a blanket in his car to sneak her onto Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, Ga. He reportedly met her online.
Flores is assigned to the gold crew of the ballistic-missile submarine Rhode Island, Navy personnel records show. He enlisted in December 2010 and reported to the sub June 24 of this year.
He is being held in Camden County Jail on a $23,400 bond and faces charges of aggravated child molestation, sodomy and enticing a child for indecent purposes, according to the FCN report.
