Command sergeant major selections for service with special operations and special management units in fiscal 2015 will be made by a single board that meets Nov. 19-22 at Fort Knox, Ky.
The zone of consideration will include Regular Army command sergeants major, sergeants major and promotable master sergeants who are eligible for assignment to CSM positions in these functional categories:
Maneuver, Fires and Effects: Career management fields 15 infantry, 15 aviation, 18 Special Forces, 37 psychological operations and 38 civil affairs.
Operations Support: CMF 25 communications and information systems operation.
Force Sustainment: CMF 88 transportation, 89 ammunition, 91 mechanical maintenance and 94 electronic maintenance and calibration. Soldiers in these career fields also will be eligible to compete for assignment to the branch-immaterial positions that will be on the agendas of the conventional battalion and brigade CSM boards that convene Dec. 3.
The specific zone of consideration includes E-9s with pro-fessional development proficiency codes of 6C or 7C, and basic active service dates not earlier than March 30, 1986, and birth dates no earlier than March 30, 1956.
Noncommissioned officers who meet the zone criteria automatically will be considered by the board unless they opt out using the Command Preference Designator application at https://hrc.army.mil/site/applicationdirectory.htm.
The CPD opened Sept. 20 and will close Oct. 20.
