ALALMOGORDO, N.M. — The Air Force says one of its Predator drones crashed on the White Sands Missile Range during a training exercise from Holloman Air Force Base near Alamogordo.

Cause of the crash Wednesday is under investigation but the Air Force says the MQ-1B drone assigned to the 49th Wing experienced what was called “an in-flight emergency.”

According to the Air Force, the drone then flew a pre-programed path away from human activity until it crashed.

The Air Force says no one was injured and that no private property was affected.
