Military Times has received a steady stream of notices from retailers around the nation offering special deals for service members and veterans in honor of Veterans Day.
The list is heavy on food; any veteran who can’t find a free or discounted breakfast, lunch or dinner probably isn’t looking hard enough.
Below is a roundup of the offers we’ve received, all of which require proof of service. Unless otherwise noted, the offers are for the service member or veteran only.
Applebee’s is offering a free meal on Monday at all its locations nationwide. www.applebees.com

Champps Americana is offering a free burger at its more than 50 locations, most on the East Coast and in the Midwest. www.champps.com
Mission BBQ is teaming with Charm City Cakes for a special promotion at its four locations in the Baltimore metro area. Each location will have a World War II Memorial replica cake measuring about 3 feet wide and serving 300 to 400 slices, along with complimentary turkey, pork and brisket sandwiches. http://mission-bbq.com
