A Nellis Air Force Base, Nev., airman faces a murder charge in the on-base death of his wife, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.
Tech Sgt. Rickey Massey Jr., 32, is being held on a $1 million cash bond at the Clark County Detention Center, according to the jail’s online records.
Nellis security forces and officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department arrested Massey at a home on base about 10:30 a.m. Friday, the Review-Journal reported. Massey’s wife, Theresa Rivera, 34, was found dead of asphyxia inside the garage.
Police said Rivera and Massey had been involved in a domestic dispute hours before her body was found.
Investigators say she appeared to have been beaten.
Massey’s arrest marks the second time in less than a year that a Nellis airman has been charged with killing his wife. Police last April arrested Tech. Sgt. Jarom Boyes in the shooting death of Staff Sgt. Melissa Boyes during a domestic dispute at the couple’s off-base home.
Boyes’ next court appearance is scheduled for Jan. 27, with a trial date tentatively set for Feb. 3, according to Clark County court records.
