The Combined Arms Center and Fort Leavenworth, Kan., welcomed a new commanding general Thursday, according to information from the Army.
Lt. Gen. Robert Brown, who most recently commanded I Corps at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., assumed command from Lt. Gen. David Perkins.
Perkins, who has led CAC since November 2011, is slated to take command of Training and Doctrine Command from Gen. Robert Cone, who is retiring.
In his new assignment, Brown also will be commandant of the Army Command and General Staff College and deputy commanding general for combined arms at TRADOC, according to the Army.
Brown, a 1981 West Point graduate, has served at Fort Carson, Colo., Fort Hood, Texas, and Fort Benning, Ga.
He has deployed to Haiti, Bosnia and Iraq, and served in numerous staff positions, including at Army Pacific, the Joint Staff, and Army Europe.
