DENVER — Leadership at Buckley Air Force base hopes to release more information about the Airman killed in a hit-and-run crash on Denver's east side overnight Wednesday.
Denver Police say 23-year-old Michael Snyder was on his motorcycle when an SUV struck him from behind. The bike skidded more than a block on the pavement.
It happened just before 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday near East Alameda Avenue and South Monaco Parkway.
The driver of the SUV left the scene of the accident but was pulled over and arrested about a mile away. Denver police arrested 32-year-old William Pettepiece.
Pettepiece will likely face charges of vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of a deadly accident. Police say alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
It's the fourth deadly hit-and-run in Denver this year.
