A second service member has been charged in the death of a sailor in Germany, Stars and Stripes has reported.
An Article 32 hearing is scheduled to begin Thursday to determine whether Army Spc. Cody A. Kramer should face court-martial for allegedly facilitating the strangling of Petty Officer 2nd Class Dmitry Chepusov. Kramer is also accused of making a false statement.
On Dec. 14, Chepusov, 31, of Edgewater, N.J., was found unresponsive in a privately-owned vehicle and subsequently pronounced dead by German medical authorities, according to U.S. European Command.
It was reported last month that Air Force Staff Sgt. Sean Oliver was charged with murder among other offenses related to Chepusov’s death, according to the 86th Airlift Wing at Ramstein Air Base, Germany.
Oliver, 34, is accused of strangling Chepusov. Both Oliver and Chepusov worked for American Forces Network at Ramstein.
A court-martial for Oliver is set to occur in May, Stripes reported.
