Allowances: Dislocation Allowance

Government-paid moves and travel allowances often fall short of actual costs of permanent change-of-station moves. The nontaxable dislocation allowance covers some of that extra expense. For 2010, the allowance, based on rank and whether a member has dependents, ranges from $842.51 to $4,223.71.
