Raise the legal drinking age
I’ve worked more than 20 years as a military cop, both stateside and overseas. Based on my experiences, I’d go with setting the legal age to buy/consume alcohol at 25. It would remove all the silly “coming of age” BS. By 25, most of our troops have finally grown up. Most.

Updated leave guidance for new fathers
I was out of the Marine Corps when our daughter was born, but there were guys having kids and they had to be back at work the next day. Why is the policy different for unmarried men?

More on the move to Guam
Guam is going to do what’s best for Guam. That’s the same as any state in the union. I don’t see a lot of bashing going on, but rather legitimate concerns about the island’s infrastructure and tourist trade. These are fair points to make.

The entire III MEF (29,000 Marines, give or take) is now in Okinawa and tourism has absolutely THRIVED there for many years. Guam is well-known for complaining, yet nobody there pays one red cent into the federal kitty. The Marines are getting a bad rap on this one, boys. Guam can easily handle approximately [a quarter] of the MEF.
