Fox takes NFL pregame show to Afghanistan
Posted : Saturday Nov 7, 2009 13:13:59 EST
NEW YORK — The Fox NFL pregame show Sunday will be broadcast from a military installation in Afghanistan.
The six-man announcing crew traveled to an undisclosed location in the country this week to honor service members three days before Veterans Day. The two-hour show begins at 11 a.m. Eastern.
The network said idea came about when Fox Sports chairman David Hill was passing through the airport in Dallas during a business trip last spring. He said that military personnel walking through the terminal were going mostly unnoticed and that he wanted to do something about it.
Fox analyst Michael Strahan said that to see “so many young, smart, committed and capable men and women is inspiring.”
