OCEANSIDE, Calif. — A Marine assigned to the 1st Marine Division was killed after his vehicle struck a military Humvee on base at Camp Pendleton on Wednesday morning, base officials said.
The Marine, who officials had not identified because the family had not yet been notified, died in the accident, division officials said in a news release.
The base provost marshal’s office is investigating the crash. A spokesman had no other details about the incident.
The accident happened where Las Pulgas Road intersects with Basilone Road, the major north-south road that winds through the central part of the training base.
