Report: U.S. Rep. Murtha hospitalized
Posted : Wednesday Feb 3, 2010 14:56:38 EST
Rep. John Murtha, D-Pa., is in the intensive-care ward of a Virginia hospital, being treated for complications that followed scheduled surgery to remove his gall bladder, NBC News is reporting, citing Democratic aides.
Murtha, 77, is being treated at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington. The surgery was planned after an issue arose in December, the aides told NBC.
Murtha, a Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War, chairs the House Appropriations Defense Subcommittee.
Murtha spokesman Matt Mazonkey said Wednesday the congressman’s condition remains stable but provided no further information.
