3 Marines die in Helmand province

Three Marines have died while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan, the Defense Department announced Tuesday.

• Lance Cpl. Daniel G. Raney, 21, of Pleasant View, Tenn., died July 9. He was assigned to Camp Lejeune, N.C.-based 3rd Battalion, 6th Marines.

• Lance Cpl. Tyler A. Roads, 20, of Burney, Calif., died July 10. He also was assigned to 3/6. His death is under investigation.

• Staff Sgt. Christopher J. Antonik, 29, of Crystal Lake, Ill., died Sunday. He was assigned to Camp Pendleton, Calif.-based 1st Marine Special Operations Battalion, Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command.
