Lejeune Marines die in Helmand

Two North Carolina-based Marines died in recent days while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan, the Defense Department announced.
Lance Cpl. Ross S. Carver, 21, of Rocky Point, N.C., died Friday. He was assigned to Camp Lejeune’s 2nd Battalion, 6th Marines.
Cpl. Philip G. E. Charte, 22, of Goffstown, N.H., died Tuesday. He was also assigned to 2/6.
Further information was not immediately available.
