A North Carolina-based Marine died Wednesday while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan, the Defense Department said Thursday.
Lance Cpl. Christopher B. Rodgers, 20, of Griffin, Ga., was assigned to 1st Battalion, 2nd Marines, out of Camp Lejeune.
Further information was not immediately available.
