CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. — A memorial to Marines and sailors killed in the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts has been unveiled at a Southern California Marine base.

The North County Times says a 44-foot-long sandstone wall etched with nearly 1,200 names was unveiled Wednesday at Camp Pendleton.

It lists those attached to Pendleton-based Marine Expeditionary Force units who’ve died since 2002 in the conflicts. The last name listed is Joshua D. Corral, who was killed by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan in November.

More names will be added as casualties occur.

The wall was paid for by Rotary Clubs around the nation.
