BAY CITY, Mich. — A rally is being held in Bay City to mark the four-year anniversary of Iran's refusal to release a former Marine from Michigan.

Amir Hekmati was arrested in 2011 and sentenced to 10 years in a harsh prison. The U.S. denies he's a spy.

A rally is planned Saturday in downtown Bay City. It's being organized by Terry Spencer, a Pinconning police sergeant who also served in the U.S. Navy and National Guard.

Hekmati has family in the Flint area, including his father, who has brain cancer. The U.S. House of Representatives has demanded that Iran release Hekmati and other Americans held as political prisoners.
