The Marine Corps Marathon 10K is returning to the National Mall this year, reports WTOP

The popular run, which coincides with the Marine Corps Marathon, was temporarily moved to Arlington, Virginia, so that runners could avoid the chaos that came with the Metro track work last year.

The Oct. 22 run starts on the National Mall by the National Gallery of Art. From there, runners cross the 14th Street Bridge, through Crystal City, past the Pentagon and finish at the Marine Corps War Memorial.

Runners will receive souvenirs and may attend a health and fitness expo at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in Oxon Hill, Maryland.

Registration for the 10K began on Thursday and costs $55. Registration for the Marine Corps Marathon Kids Run is also open. The 1-mile fun run is for ages 5-12 and open to 3,600 kids.
