It’s a not-so happy Valentine’s Day for Bristol Palin, whose husband, Marine Corps Medal of Honor recipient Sgt. Dakota Meyer, reportedly filed for divorce.

Meyer, 29, earned the Medal of Honor for rescuing wounded Afghan forces and recovering the bodies of fallen Marines in the Battle of Ganjgal in Afghanistan in 2009.

Meyer and Palin, 27, have a historically tumultuous past. The couple initially called off a short engagement in 2015 just days before their May wedding, according to People.

They finally married in June 2016, six months after the birth of their daughter, Sailor Grace, 2. Last year they had a second daughter, Atlee Bay, who is 9 months old.

Palin also has a 9-year-old son, Tripp, from her previous relationship with Levi Johnston. Her teenage pregnancy rocked the nation during her mother, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s 2008 presidential campaign.

Meyer posted a photo of their family on Instagram on Jan. 7, captioned “What matters.” But in more recent pictures, neither can be seen with their wedding ring, according to USA Today.
