“WTF, Over?”

The phrase a superior has undoubtedly barked in your direction in response to a display of junior enlisted ineptitude may soon be taking on tangible form thanks to a partnership between the popular satirical military website Duffel Blog and War Games LLC.

With yesterday’s launch of a Kickstarter campaign, the prompt-and-response, Cards Against Humanity-style card game is well on its way to being mass produced and finding its way onto predeployment packing lists everywhere.

But before this concept can become reality, Duffel Blog and War Games LLC need help from you, the veteran community. So instead of driving off base to get that fresh high-and-tight or buying that Ford Mustang at the dealer right outside the gate with an interest rate of only 45 percent (We finance to E1s!—you know the place), throw a few bucks toward this great cause.

A 220-card deck jam-packed with the funniest Duffel Blog content means the chances of collapsing into your uninhibited ugly-laugh — you know, that throaty, snorting one you didn’t want your significant other to see out of fear he or she may leave you for Jody once you put on such a grotesque show — are quite good.

“For the big fan of Duffel Blog who has been following us from the very beginning, they’re definitely going to see familiar things and get a chuckle out of it,” Paul Szoldra, founder and editor-in-chief of Duffel Blog, told Military Times. “And for the people who don’t know Duffel Blog, they’ll definitely get something out of it, too. It’s fun for everyone.”

The prompt-and-response cards are “all related to stories or headlines, which turns out, works pretty well for cards,” Szoldra said.

For example, a “prompt may be, ‘ISIS just claimed responsibility for _______,’ while a player could respond with, ‘Hillary Clinton’s missing emails,’ or ‘banning chairs in the Air Force,’” a press release announcing the game said.

In War Games LLC, “the military version of the Onion” has an experienced, veteran-operated partner that has delivered two previous games, FUBAR and Blue Falcon, which are currently sold online and at Walmart.

“Here at War Games we are avid readers of Duffel Blog and sometimes even contribute to the site,” Kevin Jacobson, chief financial officer of War Games LLC, said in the press release. “So we are ecstatic to have the chance at combining two of our favorite things. We’ve taken extra care to ensure this game gives fans and newcomers alike an amazing game experience.”

The Kickstarter campaign will run until April 20. AAFES pogs are not an acceptable form of payment.
