The Arizona National Guard is investigating the use of one of its helicopters to do a candy drop over a suburban Phoenix home.

KSAZ-TV reports that residents in Phoenix's Arcadia neighborhood reported seeing a military helicopter Tuesday afternoon.

National Guard officials identified the helicopter as one that took off from the Papago Park Military Reservation.

They say an initial investigation has determined the aircraft dropped candy over a home where a Halloween party was taking place while en route to a training mission.

Army Brig. Gen. William Hall says the Guard does not authorize or condone utilizing aircraft or equipment for personal use.

Hall says the incident will be investigated further.

Officials are not releasing the names of the crew but they have been temporarily suspended from flying duties.
