A 19-year-old Marine died May 25 after collapsing during a training run on Okinawa, Japan, according to media reports.
Cpl. Donavon Macura dropped to one knee while experiencing a seizure during the course of a three-mile run, according to the Daily Inter Lake newspaper of Kalispell, Montana.
Macura, who was from Kalispell, had arrived at his new duty station just one week earlier, Stars and Stripes reported.
Macura had no previous known medical conditions that could have directly caused or contributed to his sudden death, Stripes reported.
Macura had been at Camp Pendleton prior to his arrival at Okinawa, and would have turned 20 on May 31, Stripes reported.
The incident is under investigation.
