Col. Daniel P. O'Hora has been fired as commander of the Marine Corps Engineer School at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, according to Training Command.

Brig. Gen. Jason Bohm, head of Training Command, relieved O'Hora on June 6 due to "loss of trust and confidence in his ability to serve in command," Training Command said Monday in a statement to Marine Corps Times.

"An investigation has been opened and remains ongoing," according to the statement, which did not specify what prompted Bohm to fire O'Hora, who assumed command of the engineer school on Sept. 9.

O'Hora could not be immediately reached for comment on Monday. His official biography and picture have been scrubbed from the engineer school's website.

Lt. Col. Gregory Marchlinski, the command's executive officer, is serving as temporary commander until a replacement for O'Hora can be selected.

Both the Marine Corps and Training Command are committed to holding senior leaders to the highest standard and the service's core values, the statement says.
