Translating Military Experience Into Civilian Careers
One of the most valuable features for many transitioning service members is understanding how military experience aligns with civilian careers. IHG recently enhanced the Military Careers experience on our careers site www.careers.ihg.com/military, with new search capabilities designed specifically for military talent.
Candidates can now explore opportunities using military-focused search criteria, including military occupational codes, branch of service, and keywords. These enhancements help veterans easily identify positions that align with the skills and experiences they’ve developed through military service, creating a more efficient and intuitive path to meaningful employment.
Staying Connected Through the Military Talent Community
Career exploration doesn’t always begin when someone is ready to apply. Often, it starts with learning about an organization, understanding potential career paths, and finding opportunities that align with personal and professional goals.
To support that journey, IHG has expanded its Military Talent Community, creating a dedicated space where military talent can stay connected with our organization. Community members receive information about relevant career opportunities, military-focused initiatives, and updates tailored to their interests and backgrounds.
Building Connections in the Communities We Serve
IHG’s commitment to military talent extends into real life partnerships and events. Throughout the year, we engage directly with veterans and transitioning service members through recruiting and community events designed to create awareness of career opportunities throughout our organization.
Recent engagements have included participation in the Vetlanta Job Fair and a hiring event in partnership with Work for Warriors Georgia at the Crowne Plaza Atlanta Perimeter. These events provide opportunities to connect with military talent, learn from their experiences, and highlight the wide variety of career paths available across both hotel operations and corporate functions.

Veterans and military spouses working at IHG Army Hotels – a portfolio of hotels located inside 40 US Army installations -- bring a highly-specialized level of service for military travelers and make up approximately 25 percent of their workforce.
