The trailer is out for the upcoming film "Megan Leavey," staring Kate Mara as the Marine Corps Corporal.
Former "House of Cards" star Kate Mara will play Leavey, a former Marine Corps Military Police K-9 handler who served two tours of duty in Iraq.
The film tells the true story of Leavey and her K-9 partner Rex. Both were injured when an IED was remotely detonated, causing a serious head injury for the Cpl., according to New York City’s CBS affiliate.
Rex was still needed in the military when Leavey was discharged in 2008, leading to a lengthy battle to adopt the dog. Leavey’s efforts to adopt Rex would eventually involve Sen. Chuck Schumer of New York.
The film is directed by Gabriela Cowperthwaite, who directed the 2013 documentary "Blackfish." It also stars Bradley Whitford, Common and Edie Falco.
"Megan Leavey" hits theaters this June.
