Christopher O’Melia was relieved of command of 1st Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, by the commanding general of 1st Marine Division. One Marine corporal said maintenance issues have been getting fixed much more quickly than before the barracks inspection. The commanding officer of the School of Infantry–West and the commanding officer of the school’s Reconnaissance Training Company were fired March 8. The Marine Corps also restricted the allowable colors of pantyhose for those who do choose to wear them. The move came without objection in a voice vote late Wednesday night. The Marine Corps has ordered inspections of each of its barracks by March 15.
