Project Recover identified the remains of two SBD-5 Dauntless dive bombers and one TBM/F-1 Avenger torpedo bomber in Truk Lagoon, now known as Chuuk State in the Federated States of Micronesia. The site may contain as many as 33 down U.S. aircraft numbering nearly 100 service members missing in action.
