A new Marine Corps video shows artillery Marines somewhere in Syria emerging from clouds of sand and dust to fire M777-A2 Howitzers at ISIS.

The video is expertly shot using a drone, which hovers over the gun pits as the Marines load and fire their artillery pieces.

Unlike the artillery unit that supported Iraqis last year, these artillery Marines are not static, the video shows. They are on the move as they support Syrian Democratic Forces, which are fighting to capture Raqqa, ISIS' de facto capital.

Meanwhile, Kurdish forces that are also fighting in Raqqa are relaying coordinates for artillery strikes to the Marines via U.S. special operations forces, Marine Corps Times has learned.

That means the artillery Marines will stay busy helping Syrian Arab and Kurdish forces advance under a steady steel rain.
