What’s your experience with Tricare?

The Military Officers Association of America wants you to provide feedback through an online survey. The anonymous, 24-question survey takes about 15 minutes to complete.

The Tricare program has undergone some major changes as of Jan. 1, with fundamental changes to the benefit and unexpected increases in costs for some patients. MOAA will use the information compiled from their survey about beneficiaries’ experiences in its work to advocate for those in the military community, including retirees.

MOAA conducted a similar survey just before the changes took effect.

On Jan. 1, under Tricare reform, the previous Tricare Standard and Tricare Extra combined into Tricare Select. For various reasons, co-pays have increased for many Tricare patients.

In the U.S., Tricare shrank from three regions to two. The geographic area of Tricare West didn’t change, but the contractor changed to Health Net Federal Services. Tricare North and Tricare South combined to form Tricare East, with the contractor Humana Military, which previously had the contract for Tricare South.

Defense Health Agency officials have been working with the contractor in the West region to address issues related to families’ trouble finding area doctors and other medical providers in the Tricare network, among other issues.
