A man had been stranded for nearly two days after flipping his off-road motorcycle when a Marine helicopter crew spotted him.
Capt. Dave Snowden's relief comes one week after the carrier collided with a merchant vessel while operating in the Mediterranean Sea.

“We do a lot of scenarios that prepare us for moments like this, and once I started assessing the injury, it was almost automatic,” the airman said.
Lt. Col. Nicholas J. Harvey was relieved of command of the Heavy Helicopter Squadron 361, known as the “Flying Tigers,” on Nov. 18.
