The U.S. Navy has replaced the admiral in charge of the Office of Naval Research with a civilian who has reportedly worked as a DOGE staffer.
Cmdr. Adam Ochs was relieved of his duties as commanding officer of the USS Santa Barbara due to a "loss of confidence," the Navy announced.
The decision came after the service lost confidence in the commander's ability to lead, according to the Marine Corps.
The Navy vessels will be the first to bear the names of former presidents William J. Clinton and George W. Bush.
