Two senators from Maine are asking the U.S. Army inspector general to provide an accounting of interactions with Robert Card before the Oct. 25 shootings.
Sen. Tommy Tuberville plans to call a floor vote on the nominee for the Corps’ assistant commandant after Gen. Eric M. Smith suffered a health emergency.
“I don’t mind breaking my own back,” said Gen. Eric Smith, who is both the acting and assistant commandant. “It’s just, I have to make good decisions.”
